Sudden Death of Former Nevada Man at Harlan

Funeral services for Howard L. Minkler, 81, former Nevada man, who died very suddenly from a heart attack while on the street of Harlan Monday afternoon, will be held at the M. E. church in Harlan Wednesday afternoon at four o'clock. The body will be brought to Nevad for dommittal in the family lot in the Nevada cemetery.

Nevada Lodge No. 99 A. F. & A. M. had been notified to meet at the north cemetery entrance at 10:30 Thursday to meet the funeral party and conduct the committal service at 11:00.

Mr. Minkler, younger son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Minkler, former Milford township and Nevada resident was raised in Milford township attending school in Nevada and here it was that he was married to Miss Bessie Fifer.

For the past several years, the family has lived at Harlan, where he had been engaged in teh gas and oil distribution business. While there he was active in civic, church and lodge affairs, being prominent in Masonic circles.

In addition to his private business, he had served for some time as secretary of the Shelby County fair association.

Mr. Minkler leaves besides his wife and two children, a sister Mrs. Genevieve Montgomery of Des Moines and a brother Fredric C. Minkler of Evanston, Illinois.

Notice to Master Masons: The Masonic lodge at Harlan, Iowa requests the brothers of Nevada Lodge No. 99 A. F. & A. M. to meet in Nevada cemetery on Thursday, Aug. 11th, at 11:00 a.m., to conduct the committal services for Bro. Howard Minkler.

All Master Masons are urged to be present.
