Edwin C. Kinney
March 25, 1933 - May 27, 2013Edwin C. Kinney, 80, of Alden, passed away Monday, May 27, 2013, at the Israel Family Hospice House in Ames.
Edwin was the son of Ralph C. and Sadie Kinney. He graduated from Iowa Falls High School in 1951 and entered the United States Air Force, serving as a mechanic until his honorable discharge in 1955. He then returned to the family farm in the Buckeye area. Edwin enjoyed flying, reading, tinkering and guns. He was very involved in the community and loved being with kids and his grandchildren.
Edwin is survived by his son, Chris (Teri) Kinney of Iowa Falls; his daughter, Wendy Kinney of Rogers, MN; his brother, John (Virginia) Kinney of Albuquerque, NM; his grandchildren, Nichole, Whitney and Courtney Kinney, Kasey and Kris Crabtree; and one great-grandson, Colby. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters.
Per Edwin’s wishes, he has been cremated and a Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the William R. Bliss Cancer Center or the Israel Family Hospice House, both in Ames, Iowa.
Bacon Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Nevada are handling arrangements.
