BETTY THORSON

Betty Thorson, 71, of Story City, formerly of Ames, died Saturday, Nov. 20, 1982 at Bethany Manor Nursing Home in Story City, where she had been a resident since February, 1982.

She was born Oct. 24, 1911, in Story County, the daughter of Peter and Lois Wirth. On Oct. 28, 1934, she married Jeffries Thorson.

Mrs. Thorson is survived by her husband; four sons, Eugene of Story City, Alfred of Paducah, Ken., Everett of Fullerton, Calif., and Clifford of Fountain Valley, Calif.; 13 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and one sister, Bertha Dahlberg of Hawley, Minn. She was preceded in death by her parents, one brother, and one son, LeRoy.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Nov. 23, at 1:30 p.m. at Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with Rev. Orville Sanderson officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery.
