KENNETH G. LYBARGER
Funeral services for Kenneth G. Lybarger, 70, of Story City IA, were held Saturday, Jan. 2, 1988 at Immanuel Lutheran Church with Rev. Stephen Anenson and Rev, William Ostroot officiating.
Mr. Lybarger died of cancer Dec. 31, 1987, at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames.
Casket bearers were Paul Olson, Paul Barkema, Dick Whitefield, Elmer Mitchell, Dick Barkema and Jerry Smith. He was laid to rest in the Story City Municipal Cemetery at Story City.
At the service, Ole Skaar Jr. sand "He Touched Me" and "How Great Thou Art," accompanied by the organist, Janet Olson.
Mr. Lybarger was born in Jefferson, IA Dec. 19, 1917, to Dallas and Alta Mae (Brock) Lybarger. He lived in the Central Iowa area most of his life and in Story City since 1956. He was appliance service manager at Home Furniture and Appliance in Ames for 26 years prior to his retirement in 1982.
He was married to Hazel L. Tesdall on Feb. 16, 1941, in Santa Fe NM.
Survivors include his wife Hazel, three sons, David of Des Moines, Stephen of Story City, Alan of Avon CO, and one daughter, Virginia Adduci of Corvallis OR; two brothers, Chet of Lancaster CA and Earl of Story City; seven grandchildren and three step-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death, by his parents, an infant son, Kenneth Dean; two sisters, one brother and one daughter-in-law.
Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home, Story City, was in charge of arrangements.
