Death
John N. WiersonJohn N. Wierson, 92, of Story City, died Wednesday, Jan 29, 1997 of heart failure at Mary Greeley Medical Center in Ames. Funeral services were held Saturday, Feb. 1 at 1:30 p.m. at St. Petri Lutheran Church with Rev. Rolfe Johnstad officiating. Burial was in the story City Cemetery.
John N. Wierson was born July 22, 1904 in rural Story City, the son of Samson S. and Emily (Erickson) Wierson. On July 12, 1927 he married Celia O. Henderson. He was a farmer and operated a small trucking business of Story City, a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church and active in Story City community organizations.
Survivors include four sons, Jack and his wife Shirley of Story City, Dr. Phillip and wife Dr. Carolyn of Gainsville, Georgia, Pastor Stanley of Marion, Iowa and Paul of Des Moines; several grandchildren and many great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Celia who died July 9, 1988; two brothers, Theroy and Willard; and two sisters, Julia Wierson and Vernie Wierson.
Memorial may be sent to the St. Petri Youth Fund.
