Ida Christiansen rites Friday
Ida E. Christiansen, 74, 1801 20th St., died at Mary Greeley Hospital Tuesday* at 8 p.m. after an illness of three weeks.
Funeral services will be Friday at 1:30 p.m. from Bethesda Lutheran Church with the Rev. Carl P. Schattauer and the Rev. O. M. Severseike officiating. Burial will be in the Fairview Cemetery at Story City.
Ida Christiansen was born Jan 28, 1895 near Story City and graduated from Story City High School in 1914. She graduated from the State University of Iowa college of nursing in 1921.
She recently completed 50 years of nursing. She was most recently employed as a student health nurse at Iowa State University.
She was a member of the Bethesda Lutheran Church and a member of the Iowa Nurses Assn.
Survivors include her sister, Mamie K. Christiansen, 1801 20th St., four nephews and a niece.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Christiansen, and two brothers, Sern and Charles Christiansen.
The body will lie in state at Adams Funeral Home Thursday afternoon until noon Friday.
A memorial fund has been established for Bethesda Lutheran Church. Gifts may be left at the First National Bank.
