ORVAL HITCHCOCK
Funeral services for Orval Hitchcock, Cambridge, were held Sept. 24, form the Nazareth Lutheran Church in Cambridge with the Rev. Tom Dettmer officiating. Burial was in the White Oak Cemetery. Pallbearers were Russell Johnson, Lloyd Bishop, Mariam Lewis, Harold Erickson, Hermit Griffith and Kahl Sesker.
Mr. Hitchcock was born March 1, 1900 in Polk County. He and Nellie Nelson were married Dec. 24, 1923. Mr. Hitchcock was a retired farmer and lived in the White Oaks and Cambridge area all his life. He died Sept. 21 at Mary Greeley Hospital.
Surviving are his wife; a son, Raymond Dean, Winterset; six grandchildren; two great grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Helen Vincent of Maxwell; Mrs. Myrtle Scott, Torrence, Calif. and a brother Ora of Cambridge.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a son, Norman Francis and a sister.
