Word was received here this morning of the death of Oscar (Aslak) Thompson, one of our oldest pioneers. For the past three weeks he has made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Henry Stole*, of near Forest City where he died last night after a short illness from pneumonia. Obituary will be published next week.

*SUBMITTER'S NOTE: According to Story County marriage records, Carrie Thompson married Henry Stoll on 28 March 1893 in Roland, Story County, Iowa.
