LeRoy Tegland killed Saturday

LeRoy Tegland, 43, Campbell, Calif., was killed Saturday evening in an accident near San Jose.

Born on a farm south of Story City, Mr. Tegland was a lifetime resident of the Story City area until about two years ago.

He was a veteran of World War II service with the Navy air arm. He had been employed as a carpet layer.

Mr. Tegland is survived by a brother, Emery of Ellsworth and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Munson of Story City.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Omar and Millie Tegland.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday from St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Rhuben Ada officiating. Military graveside rites will be held in Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home, Story City, is in charge of arrangements.

LEROY THOMAS TEGLAND

LeRoy Thomas Tegland was born May 16, 192 near Story City, the son of Omar and Millie Tegland, and died April 29, 1967.

Mr. Tegland was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church. He attended the Gilbert and Randall schools.

He was a veteran of World War II, serving with the U.S. Navy Air Force.

Mr. Tegland was a farmer and construction worker in the Ellsworth, Ames and Story City area and at Lakota and Lake Park, Minn. He had been employed with Sears, Roebuck & Co., at San Jose, Calif. for the past two years.

Survivors include a brother, Emery Tegland, Ellsworth, and a sister, Mrs. Eleanor Munson of Story City. He was preceded in death by his mother, in 1952 and his father in 1958.

Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, May 3 from the St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Rhuben O. Aga officiating. Military graveside services were conducted in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.
