H. O. Torkelson Died Last Night In Story City
Story City, Jan. 18--Hans O. Torkelson, 71, died Wednesday* night at 11 p.m. at his home in Story City. Death was due to a heart attack which he suffered a week ago and which kept him bedfast until his death. He had been in failing health for some time.
Mr. and Mrs. Torkelson had been living in Story City for the past three years coming in from the farm they owned northwest of Story City and on which they had lived since 1914. On their retirement fom the farm they purchased a home in Story Ctiy.
The deceased was born on the old Torkelson homestead southeast of Story City on December 31, seventy one years ago.
Surviving are the wife the son, Casper, who recently moved from Ames to the farm near Story City, the son , Sanford of Albion, the daughter, Mrs. Stanley Collins of Ames and the son, Herman Torkelson, who had left the farm and moved recently to El Monte, California.
He is also survived by the one brother, Tom Torkelson of Story City and the following sisters, Mrs. Alice Helvig of Story City, Mrs. Ingvald Hill of Story City and Mrs. Jacob Berkland of Morris, Ill.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday with a prayer service at the home at 1:30 p. m. followed by services at 2 p. m. in the St. Petri Lutheran church with the Rev. S. T. Nelson in charge.
Burial will be in the Story City cemetery.
