Obituary
ELMER C. HANSON
Funeral services for Elmer C. Hanson were held Monday, June 28 at 2 p.m. from the St. Petri Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. Rhuben O. Aga officiating.
Mrs. Joel Jacobson was organist and soloist was Mrs. Robert Hermanson. Pallbearers were Lloyd Ritland, Arthur Goodmanson, Carter Starboe, Porter Quam, Elvin Sunnes and Gaylord Jacobson.
Burial was in the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Elmer Cornelius Hanson was the son of Soren and Jacobine Hanson and was born in Hamilton County May 13, 1889. He died in the Iowa Methodist Hospital, Des Moines at 6:20 p.m. June 25 after being admitted there that same day.
He was a member of the St. Petri Lutheran Church. He married Myrtle Johnson, Feb. 14, 1923. Mr. Hanson was a veteran of World War I and later farmed in the Story City area until his retirement seven years ago.
He is survived by his wife, a daughter, Mrs. Gerald (Marjorie) Ogren of Des Moines, and a son, Robert Hanson of Ames; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Magee Idse and Agnes Hanson, Story City, and two brothers, Hans J. Hanson of Story City and William Hanson of Creston.
His parents, a sister and a brother preceded him in death.
