Ole Monson died today

Ole Monson, 98, Story City, died at 3:37 a.m. Tuesday at the Story City Memorial Hospital where he had been a patient for the past six years.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City with the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Burial will be in Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Monson was born Oct. 26, 1872 south of Story City. He farmed on the home farm until 1940 when he retired. He moved to Story City in 1962.

Survivors include several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Lars and Martha Monson; four sisters and five brothers.

The Soderstrum-Larson Funeral home, Story City, is in charge of funeral arrangements.
