SERVICES FOR ARCHIE DURBY ON MONDAY
Archie E. Durby, 65, rural Story City, was found dead at his home Saturday morning, May 24, 1969.
Archie was born March 20, 1904 near Roland.
Funeral services were held Monday afternoon from St. Pauls Lutheran church, northwest of Story City with the Rev. Enoch Hall, pastor, in charge. Emmett Olson, organist, accompanied Mr. and Mrs. Ruben Sansgaard, as they sang a vocal duet. Pallbearers were Irvin Lund, C. H. Hunter, Sheman Sunnes, Virgil Hanson, Jesse Overland, Mervin Teig, Charles Hove, Hawley Peterson. Burial was at the Story City Municipal cemetery.
Survivors include his wife, Evelyn; two daughters, Mrs. George (Delores) Mackey, Story City, Mrs. Marjorie Gunderson, Phoenix, Ariz.; one son, Mark, at home; 1 granddaughter, three brothers, Ben Durby, rural Nevada, Lawrence of Stanhope, Palmer of Webster City; five sisers, Mrs. Martin Caltvedt, Roland, Mrs. Victor Duea, Nevada, Mrs. James Sansgaard and Mrs. H. M. Nasses both of Story City and Mrs. Palmer Beaty of Marshalltown.
