Obituary for James F. Hendershot

James F. Hendershot, 91, of Stratford, passed away Sunday, February 24, 2013 at Stratford Care Center. Graveside services will be 10:30 a.m. Friday, March 1st at Ames Municipal Cemetery. Pastor Darrel DeRadcliffe of Heartland Baptist Church in Ames will officiate.

James Hendershot was born November 11, 1921 to William H. and Mildred F. (Powers) Hendershot in Burkburnette, Texas. He lived in Muncie, Indiana and moved to Ames in 1972. James worked for Iowa State University, retiring in 1987.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Anna May Hendershot on April 6, 1982; and three sisters, Grace Coulter, Virginia Anderson and Pauline Holloway.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a heart or cancer fund.
