EMMETT L. BALDUS

Emmett L. Baldus, 89, of Story City, died Wednesday, Sept. 2, 1981 at the Story City Hospital.

He was born June 24, 1892 south of Story City, the son of John and Elizabeth Baldus, On Feb. 13, 1917, he married Barbara Rickerl. The Couple famed in Story County, Boone County and near Alden until they retired to Story City in 1957.

Baldus is survived by his wife, Barbara; four brothers, Floyd of Nevada, Earl of Ames, Frank of Jewell and Ben of Eagle Grove; and five sisters, Angela Baldus of Story City, Rose Helland of Story City, Evelyn Uthe of Williams, Agnes Schumer of Colorado Springs, Col. and Catherine Davis of Des Moines. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Sept. 5 at 10:30 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Catholic Church southwest of Story City with Father Paul Evans officiating. Burial will be in the SS Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.

The rosary will be recited Friday evening at 8 p.m. at the Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home, Story City.
