Wednesday services for Paul Jones

Paul Jones, 76, Story City, died Aug. 31 at the North Grand Care Center.

Services are Wednesday at 2 p.m. from Immanuel Lutheran Church, Story City, with the Rev. C. A. Gisselquist officiating. Burial is in Story City Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born Jan. 27, 1899 in Cambridge. He and Josephine Sunnoe were married Sept 2, 1924. They lived in Wyoming, Iowa until 1948 when they moved to Slater. In 1964 they moved to Roland and in 1968 they went to Story City. Mr. Jones retired from the maintenance department at Iowa State University in 1963.

Surviving are his wife; two daughters, Pauline Nervig, Simi Valley, Calif. and Lola Erickson, Story City; three sons John of Brainerd, Minn.; Bill of Cedar Rapids and Jack of Colorado Springs, Colo.; 16 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother and a sister.

PAUL JONES

Funeral services for Paul Jones, 76, Story City were held Spt. 3 from the Immanuel Lutheran Church with the Rev. Gisselquist officiating. Burial was in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Mr. Jones was born Jan 17, 1899 at Cambridge. He married Josephine Sunnoe on Spt. 2, 1934. He farmed in the Cambridge and Hamilton County areas and for 14 years in Wyoming, Iowa. In 1948 he moved to Slater where Mr. Jones operated a service station for five years. Later he was employed at Iowa State University for 10 years. He moved to Roland in 1963 and to Story City in 1969.

Mr. Jones died Aug. 21 at the North Grand Care Center where he had been living for the past seven months.

He is survived by his wife; two sons, John of Brainerd, Minn. and William of Cedar Rapids; three daughters, Mrs. Pauline Nervig of Simi Valley, Calif., Mrs. Lola Erickson of Story City and Jackie Jones of Colorado Springs, Colo; 17 grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister and a brother.
