From Ames Milepost - died June 27, 1935

A number from this vicinity attended the funeral of Miss Birdella Hougland at the Immanuel church in Story City Wednesday. She was the 19 year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. R. L. Hougland of this township. She underwest an operation at Mary Greeley hospital Saturday night for the removal of her appendix, and passed away Monday morning. Burial was in the Story City cemetery.
