Services held for Palmer O. Anderson, 94

Palmer O. Anderson, 94, of Story City died Sunday, June 28, of complications of cancer as the Hubbard Care Center in Hubbard, where he had resided since October.

Services were held at 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 1, at St. Petri Lutheran Church in Story City with Rev. Rolfe Johnstad officiating.

Burial was in the Story City Cemetery.

Obituary

Palmer Anderson was born in Huxley on May 26, 1904 to Andrew C. and Elizabeth (Chelsvig) Anderson. He was baptized and confirmed at Fjelberg Lutheran Church in Huxley. He was united in marriage with Carrie T. Lee on Sept 8, 1927. She died on Feb. 1, 1982. He had farmed in the Huxley, Napier and Gilbert areas for 50 years before moving to Story City in 1969. He was a member of St. Petri Lutheran Church.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; a brother, Willard Anderson; and two sisters, Clara Rullestad and LaVonna Legvold.

Survivors include a son, Phillip and wife Shirley Anderson of rural Story City; two grandchildren, Diran (Mrs. Scott) Carter of Unionville, MO and Mark Anderson of Atlantic; a great-grandchild, Dylan Carter; a step great-grandchild, Derek Carter; and a brother, LeRoy Anderson of Huxley.

The Soderstrum-Larson Funeral Home in Story City handled the arrangements.
