Harold Hemness died Thursday

Harold Hemness, 56, Hayside, N. Y., died Thursday at 7 a.m. at Veterans Hospital, Des Moines.

He was born in 2907 in Story City, the son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Adolph Hemness. He had lived in Hayside since 1926.

He is survived by a brother, Ernest of Elezon, Calif.

Funeral services will be Monday at 2 p.m. from the Larson Funeral Home, Story City with the Rev. George C. Strum officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Municipal Cemetery.

Funeral services for Harold S. Hemness, 56, were held from Larson Funeral Home, Story City, Dec. 9, with Rev. George C. Strum officiating. Burial was at the Story City Cemetery.

Pallbearers were Lloyd Ritland, Walter Mortvedt, Lloyd Henryson, Charles Parrish, Albert S. Henryson and Robert Bauge.

Born in Story City, he was baptized in St. Petri Lutheran Church.

A graduate of Webster City high School, he lived in New York City where he was employed by the Civil Service Department until this year, except for a year in the medicial corps.

He is survived by a brother, Ernest, of El Cajon, Calif., and three aunts.
