Obituary

NELS KNUTSON

Funeral services for Nels Knutson, 80, Story City were held Thursday afternoon, Nov. 9 at 1:30 p.m. in the Chapel of the St. Petri Lutheran Church, in Story City with the Rev. George C. Strum officiating. Mr. Knutson died Nov. 3.

Pall bearers were Karl Thompson, Glen Rullestad, William S. Starkey, Duane Doolittle, Darrell Doolittle and Helmer Nibe. Burial was in the Story City municipal cemetery.

Mr. Knutson was born Dec. 6, 1878 at his parents home on a farm six miles south of Story City. His parents were Knut and Gunhild Halvorson Knutson. He was baptised and confirmed in the St. Petri Lutheran Church.

Mr. Knutson was not married. He lived in and around Story City most of his life and worked as a carpenter. He had been in poor health for past two years.

Surviving are two brothers, Ole, of Nevada and Julius, Story City; two nieces and two nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, five brothers and two sisters.

Nels Knutson, Story City, Died

Nels Knutson, 80, Story City died yesterday sthortly before noon at Oakdale State Sanitarium. He had been there since last May.

Mr. Knutson lived in and around Story City most of his life. He is survived by two brothers, Ole, Nevada; Julius of Story City; two nieces and three nephews.

The funeral will be tomorrow at 1:30 p.m. in the St. Petri Lutheran Church Chapel. The Rev. George Strum officiating. Burial will be in the Story City Cemetery. The Larson Funeral Home of Story City is in charge of services.
