Henry J. Jacobson died in the Lutheran hospital in Des Moines, Saturday, Jan. 12, at 11:30. He had been ill tow weeks and was taken to the hospital on Jan. 2. The cause of death was cerebral hemorrhage.
Mr. Jacobson was born on the old farm, east of Gilbert 56 years ago in June. He lived his entire live in Story county, farming one of the old home farms, located on Highway 69, and a mile east of Gilbert until failing health caused him to leave the farm and with his wife, moved to Story City, where they lived in an apartment over the furniture store. He continued to farm on a limited scale, on 80 acres, a portion of the original farm.
Besides his wife, he leaves one daughter, Marilyn, now Mrs. Robert Looft of Boxholm; Mr. Looft and daughter Nancie Ann; two brothers, Dan J. and Clarence, borth of the Gilbert vicinity.
Funeral services were held from the Larson-Peterson funeral home at 1:30, Tuesday, and from the St. Petri church at 2 p.m. Burial was in the Story City cemetery.
Mrs. Robt. Kenny sang two special selections, "Abide With Me" and "Lord's Prayer."
The casket bearers were Ole Jacobson, John Brattebo, Norman Jacobson, Leonard Jacobson, Chester Vilmont, Floyd Wakefield.
