Knute F. Johnson was born in Voss, Norway, Oct. 27, 1864, and came to this country with his parents when a year and a half old. All his life he lived in Iowa, engaging in farming most of the time and down thru many years he operated a threshing outfit every summer. For about 30 years he had lived in Story City and had qualified as a chiropractic, which he practised a short time.
He was married to Margaret Anunson on March 17, 1887, and it will be remembered he and wife celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary not so long ago. Mr. Johnson had been in failing strength for some time, the able to be up and around until some few weeks ago, when the first of two strokes affected him, and he died at the home of his son, John, west of Jewell, April 19.
Survivors include his wife, Margaret; three sons, John of Jewell, Arthur of Corpus Christi, Tecas, and Maj. Marion of Langley Field, Va.; a brother, Nels Johnson, Flettre of Hewitt, Minn., and a sister, Mrs. Betsy Folger, Marshalltown.
