Jo Ann King
November 27, 1936 - January 12, 2013

Jo Ann King, 76 of Scottsdale, AZ died on Saturday January 12, 2013 in Scottsdale. A Celebration of Jo Ann's life will be held in the spring.

Jo Ann was born on November 27, 1936 in Nevada to Frank Gerald and Opal Fern (Munson) King. She graduated from Nevada High School in 1955 where she was very active in clubs, band, and sports and was selected as Homecoming Queen. Jo Ann received her teacher certification from Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls and taught in both Iowa and Illinois elementary schools. Upon relocating to California, she received her BA degree from California State College. Jo Ann taught in the elementary schools for 35 more years. She enjoyed spending summers at the Minnesota family cabin.

Jo Ann is survived by a brother Richard D. "Dick" (Donna) King of Sun City, AZ; nephew Mike (Kathy) King of Mayer, AZ ; niece Mary Anne (Jerry) Duve of Amboy, IL; and several great-grand nieces and nephews.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents.

A memorial fund has been established in loving memory of Jo Ann.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Jo Ann and her family.
