WILLIAM C. TILDEN
Dr. William C. Tilden died at his home in Stanwood, Cedar County, Iowa Wednesday, June 4, 1941, after an illness of several months. He was 70 years old. He was born in Manchester, Delaware County, Iowa in 1870 and came with his parents to Ames, Story County, Iowa when a small boy.He attended Iowa State College in Ames from which he graduated in 1898 and obtained his medical degree from the State University of Iowa (now the University of Iowa) in Iowa City, Johnson County, Iowa. In 1902, he established himself immediately at Stanwood, where he has practiced since. He was married in 1903 to Florence Walker.
A brother, Dr. Julius Tilden of Charles City, Floyd County, Iowa, two sisters, Mrs. Agnes Poole of Ames and Mrs. E. C. Macy of Bryn Mawr, Montgomery County, Pennsylvania, survive him.
