From Nevada Representative November 8, 1882
Died.
October 31st, of spinal fever, Leona C., aged 2 years 5 months and 25 days, only child of Charles and Anna Thatcher. Her illness was of shor duration, only about twenty-four hours; then she folded her hands quietly across her breast and fell asleep in the loving Savior's bosom.
She was a sweet flower, that budded on earth to bloom in heaven.
Her footsteps light no more we'll hear;
They ne'er will come again;
Her presence ne'er will cheer us more,
Till we meet beyond life's plain.'Tis ever thus the sweet and fair
From us are called away,
And those we love and prize most dear
Are ours but for a day.Our darling just in bud of life,
A life that bid so fair,
Received her summons to the tomb
And now is sleeping there.
