Michael John Hoffer, Aug. 20, 1910 to Dec. 5, 2002

Michael John Hoffer, 92, of Nevada, died of a heart ailment on Thursday, Dec. 5, at Rolling Green Village in Nevada, where he had been a resident for the past three weeks.

He was born Aug. 20, 1910, in Anamoose, N.D., to John and Christie (Dockter) Hoffer, Sr. He grew up in Aberdeen, S.D., and married Frances B. Moore on Oct. 14, 1934, in Aberdeen, S.D. He retired in 1972 as manager of Dillin's Department Store after 25 years. He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Nevada, a 67-year member and past Master of the Sunrise Lodge No. 211 Masonic Lodge A.F. A.M. in Aberdeen, and a 52-year member of the Indian Creek Country Club in Nevada. He enjoyed golfing, fishing and watching sports. He had been a resident of Nevada for the past 53 years.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hoffer of Nevada; a daughter, Elinor (and Ron) Hobbs of Des Moines; two grandchildren; a great-granddaughter; and a brother, Jacob (and Betty) Hoffer of Mina Lake, S.D.

He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, John Hoffer; and a sister, Christine Johnson.
