Died.

Of congestion of the brain, September 2d, 1881, little Franky, son of J. S. and Laura A. Sanford, aged 6 years and 9 days.

Our little darling is dead and gone,
Which makes our hearts feel sore,
But he's gone to meet his brother
Who died four months before.

We had doctors from far and near,
The tried their skill in vain,
They could not cure his disease
Nor help his piercing pain.

Oh, there he laid for ten long weeks
Such pains are not on file,
For you could hear him scream with pain
For nearly half a mile.

The neighbors too did all they could
They watched both night and day
And for their kindness to our boy
We never can repay.

It is just four months and and one day
Since his little brother died,
And now they lay in the cemetery
With graves dug side by side.
