Janet Gloria (Toft) Nail of Webster City passed away peacefully at the age of 78 on Friday, July 29, 2011, at Southfield Wellness Community Center from complications of Parkinson's disease. Her memorial service was held Tuesday, August 9, 2011, at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational United Church of Christ in Webster City. Rev. Craig Blau-fuss officiated. Visitation was one hour prior to the service at the church. Boman Funeral Home in Webster City handled the arrangements. www.bomanfh.com.

Janet, daughter of George and Gladys (Doolittle) Toft, was born January 6, 1933, in Story City. She attended school in Story City and Radcliffe and graduated from Radcliffe High in 1950. Jan and Gary Nail were united in marriage on March 23, 1979. She was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ. Jan spent many years working in the health care field.

Jan's passions were her family and music. She was full of spirit and touched many, many lives with her kindness and sense of humor. She will be hugely missed by her family and friends but know that she is now in God's eternal embrace.

Survivors include: Loving husband of 32 years; daughter Bonita (Don) Joyce of Mahtomedi, Minnesota, son Bill (Nancy) Reece of New Orleans, Louisiana, daughter Tevi Robinson of St Louis, Missouri, step-sons Chris (Mary Kay) of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and Andy of North Pole, Alaska; grandchildren Jessica and Brandon Joyce, William and Charles Reece and Amanda and Kelsey Robinson; great-grandchildren Tara Robinson and Lily Reece; sister Bonnie Frandson.

She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter Kimberly Jan Reece.

Jan's family would like to extend their gratitude to the staff at Southfield Wellness Community Center for their kindness, compassion, gentle words of encouragement and extra hugs.
