Marie Huggins
May 20, 1912 - March 15, 2011

Marie Anzoletta Huggins, 98, of Maxwell died on Tuesday, March 15, 2011 at the Story County Senior Care in Nevada. Funeral services will be held 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 19 at the Loring United Methodist Church in rural Maxwell. Burial will follow in the Mt. Zion Cemetery also in rural Maxwell.

Marie was born on May 20, 1912 in Minburn, Iowa to Kenneth D. and Margaret A. (Faber) Andrews. She was a graduate of Minburn High School. On July 5, 1930, Marie was married to Louis William Huggins in Adel. Marie was employed at the Farrar school and retired from the Story County Hospital. She served as the financial secretary of the Loring United Methodist Church and was also a longtime member. Marie enjoyed needlework and crocheting.

Marie is survived by two sons, Rodger (Verlie) Huggins and Lowell (Marie) Huggins, all of Maxwell; six grandchildren, Jon Huggins, Judi Meinhardt, Jim Huggins, Joe Huggins, Michelle Groom, and Brian Huggins; 10 great-grandchildren; and 9 great-great-grandchildren.
Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Louis on May 13, 1979, brother Vernon Andrews, sister Fern Andrews, 2 half-brothers Norman Andrews and Byron Andrews.

Visitation will be held on Friday, March 18 with the family present from 5-7:00 p.m. at the Loring United Methodist Church in rural Maxwell.

A memorial fund has been established in Marie's name for the Loring United Methodist Church or the Mt. Zion Cemetery Association.

Chet Ryan Mortuary of Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Marie and her family.
