James Otto Craig
April 5, 1918 - September 14, 2011

James Otto Craig, 93 of Nevada died on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 at Windsor Manor in Nevada. Funeral services will be held 2:30 p.m. on Saturday, September 17 at Chet Ryan Mortuary, 708 Fifth Street in Nevada with Pastor Kevin Leveck officiating. Burial will follow in the Evergreen Memory Gardens.

Jim was born on April 5, 1918 in Otwell, IN to Charles and Abigail (Townsend) Craig. He served in the U.S. Navy during W.W.II. On December 28, 1941, Jim was married to Doris Jordan in Manhattan, KS. He was employed by Standard Oil and owned Jim Craig Backhoe Service. Jim enjoyed model airplanes, diesel engines and pick-ups.
Jim is survived by his wife Doris Craig of Nevada; a daughter Sharon (Harry) Renfrow of Camdenton, MO; 4 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a sister Wilma Bucklin of Newton.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, a son Terry on December 24, 1977, a brother Claude, 2 sisters Marie and Opal.

The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the mortuary.

A memorial fund has been established in Jim's memory for the First United Methodist Church.

Chet Ryan Mortuary in Nevada has been entrusted with the care of Jim and his family.
