Cora Baker
January 26, 1915 - November 10, 2011

Cora M Baker, 96, of Ames, formally of Marshalltown, Cedar Rapids and California, died Thursday November 10, 2011 at her home at Waterford Assisted Living in Ames surrounded by those who loved her. Funeral Services are planned for Friday November 18th at 2pm at Grandon Funeral Home in Ames, Iowa. A gathering of friends and family visitation will be Thursday November 17th from 4-6pm and one hour before the services.

Cora was born in 1915 to William and Grace Lukehart. Cora married the love of her life Archie Baker. Cora and Archie loved to travel to Hawaii, Europe, and many cruises.
Cora retired as a telephone operator from Northwestern Bell.

Her dogs were her children and she was most proud of her rescue of her neighbors dog from abuse, which she then permanently adopted.

She was preceded in death by her beloved Archie, her sisters Edna and Stella, her brother and her parents.

Memorials may be sent to the Marshalltown Animal Rescue League in memory of the love Cora had for all God's creatures, especially the 4 legged ones.
