Richard Ullrick
October 14, 1926 - March 12, 2012
ObituaryRichard Ullrick, 85, of Ames, died Monday, March 12, 2012. A visitation will be held Saturday, March 17 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. at Stevens Memorial Chapel in Ames.
Richard Ullrick was born October 14, 1926 in Ottumwa to John Edgar and Helen (Henshaw) Ullrick. He was married to Lillian Wymore and together they had three children. He was married to Beverly Boyer and together they had three children. He married Virginia Barber and he has six step-children. He has lived in the Ames and Nevada area for over 56 years.
He served in the military from 1946 to 1947. He was employed as a branch manager for the Industrial Clean Towel Service for 21 years, and 3-M for 12 years.
Richard is survived by his wife, Virginia Ullrick of Ames; children, Richard (Jane) Ullrick Jr., Eddyville, Linda King of Oskaloosa, Carol Kent, of Las Vegas, NV, Theresa (Mike) Hapes, of Plano, TX, Vicki (Larry) Plumlee, of Joplin, MO, and Kim Schnall, of Mt. Sinai, NY; thirteen grand children; several great grand children; step children, Don Barber of Ames, David (Susan) Barber, of Rockton, IL, Alice (Steve) Moore, of Ames, Rosalee (Johnny) Hopkins, of Oklahoma City, OK, Cliff (Jen) Barber, of Nevada, and Gary (Shari) Barber, of Polk City; sixteen step grandchildren; and many step great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Beverly; wife, Lillian; infant daughter, Joyce; and brothers, Robert, and Raymond.
