Charlotte Huston
June 9, 1936 - April 27, 2012
ObituaryCharlotte Huston, 75, of Boone, formerly of Ames, passed away Friday, April 27th, 2012 at Boone County Hospital.
Charlotte Marienau was born June 9th, 1936 in Wells, MN to Carl and Zelda Marienau. She graduated from Austin High School in 1954, Austin, MN. In 1955 she was united in marriage to Raymond Huston. In 1961 they moved to Ames, IA., where they resided for 50 years on North Maple Ave.
In addition to raising her family and being a homemaker all of her life, Charlotte was an excellent oil painter. She enjoyed playing the piano, gardening, and she loved animals, but most of all Charlotte had faith in the Lord, believed in the power of prayer and loved spending time with her family. She will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved her.
She is survived and lovingly remembered by her husband, Ray Huston, Boone, IA; her children, Steve (Cindy) Huston, Ames, IA, Chari (Jay) Buchman, Ames, IA, Jeff (Bev) Huston, Boone, IA, Gary (Stacey) Huston, Ames, IA, and Lisa (Paul) Hagner, Ankeny, IA; a brother, Mike (Nancy) Marienau, Geneseo, IL; as well as 8 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
The family will have a memorial visitation, Monday, April 30th at Steven's Memorial Chapel, Ames, IA from 6-8 p.m., with a celebration of life at 7:30 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial contributions be directed to the Animal Rescue League of Ames (her passion) or, Westhaven Care Facility, Boone, IA (for the incredible care she has received the last year and a half).
