Steve Klunder

Slater, Iowa

Steve William Klunder 52, of Slater passed away Monday, December 10, 2011. Visitation will be Thursday January 13, 2011 from 5-7 pm at the Bethlehem Lutheran Church in Slater, Funeral services will be Friday, January 14, at 10:00 am also at Bethlehem Lutheran Church. Burial will be in the Willow Lawn Cemetery in Plainfield.

Steve was born August 28, 1958 in Waverly, Iowa the son of Leonard and Myrna (Pagel) Klunder. Steve graduated from Plainfield High school and attended UNI and ISU and worked in Road Design with the DOT. On February 21, 1996, he married Jill Neubauer in Las Vegas, Nevada. Steve enjoyed hunting and was a member of Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever. He enjoyed golfing and was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and New York Jets fan. Steve also enjoyed spending time with his kids.

He is survived by his parents; wife: Jill Klunder; three children: Chris Hadaway, Kaylee Klunder and Robert Klunder all of Slater; three sisters: Terri Nolting, Cedar Falls, Lori (Mark) Bennett, Cambridge, and Karla Klunder of Des Moines; one sister in-law: Stacy (Ben) Nading, of Ankeny; three nieces and four nephews.
Riis funeral home in Slater is in charge of arrangements.
