Johnna Folkmann-Ask

BORN: February 19, 1970
DIED: January 25, 2011
LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Johnna was born in Des Moines on February 19, 1970 to Robert and Barbara (Blumeyer) Folkmann. She graduated from Ames High School in 1988 and received her bachelor’s degree from Drake University in the College of Pharmacy and Health Science in 1993. She was married on February 19, 2000 in Ames to Andy Ask.

Johnna was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed reading, writing poetry, and was a polymer clay crafter. She was a very caring and devoted mother and especially enjoyed spending time with her children.

Johnna is survived by her parents; husband, Andy Ask; four children, Joshua Folkmann, Jaden Ask, JoLyn Ask and Jessie Ask all of Ames; siblings, Mark (Susan) Folkmann and children; David (JoAnn) Folkmann and children; Karen (Ron) Belz and children; Jamie Folkmann; Jennifer (Geoff) Grausnick and children; Daniel (Stacy) Folkmann and child; grandmother, Beryl Blumeyer; mother in-law: Ann Ask; and many aunts, uncles and cousins.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather and her paternal grandparents.

In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established at Wells Fargo Bank. Memorials may be directed to Robert Folkmann for "Johnna's J4" Scholarship Fund.
