Ruth Lund

BORN: January 29, 1923
DIED: February 24, 2011
LOCATION: Madrid,, Iowa

Ruth Lund 88, formerly of Slater, died Thursday, Feb. 24 at the Madrid Home. Visitation is 4-7 Sunday Feb. 27 with a Memorial Service at 10:30 a.m. Monday, Feb. 28, at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Slater.

Ruth was born in Woodward, IA January 29, 1923 to Joshua and Lola (Burkhart) Siglin. On March 17, 1946 she married Lloyd Lund who preceded her in death on Feb. 6, 2003. After retiring from the Story County treasurer’s office she worked for Homeward Hospice.

She is survived by her daughter, Sandra (John) Frazer of Lyons, CO; son, Ben (LeAnn) Lund of Johnston; four grandchildren, Holly (Nick) Slater, Andrew and Todd Phillips, and Trevor Lund; and several nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; step-mother, Eula Frantum; husband; brothers, William and Harold; sister, Berneta and infant daughter, Connie.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to Bethlehem Lutheran Church.
