Pauline Maude Hill Rosenberger Kuehn

BORN: August 19, 1919
DIED: May 26, 2011
LOCATION: Madrid, Iowa

Pauline Rosenberger Kuehn, 91, passed quietly into the loving arms of our Lord early on Wednesday, May 26th, 2011 at the Madrid Home, Madrid Iowa

Pauline was born in Sioux City, Iowa, August 19, 1919, where she was raised by her adoptive parents, Fred and LaVeda Hill, and graduated from high school in 1937. Pauline married Rev. Gerald Rosenberger and after raising a family of four children; Esther Jones (Cliff) of Arnolds Park, Iowa, Evy Sheldahl (Charlie) of Huxley, Iowa, Elaine Stubbs (Gary) of Ankeny, Iowa, Evan Rosenberger (Mary) of Edgewood, New Mexico, she graduated from Tarkio College in Missouri with a BA degree in elementary education. She taught school in several Iowa districts for 20 years before retiring in the state of Washington. Throughout her life she enjoyed living life as a Christian, all forms of art, travel, music and continuing to learn through reading and sharing her life’s experiences with family and friends. She returned to Iowa in 2004 to be near family and was residing at Ballard Creek Communities in Huxley and at the time of her death, the Madrid Home in Madrid.

Pauline was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers, her husbands, Rev. Gerald Rosenberger of Iowa and Clarence Kuehn of the Seattle, Washington area.

Pauline is survived by her large family of children, step children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, great-great grandchildren and thoughtful friends. The family gratefully acknowledges the loving care and friendship provided by the staff, residents and volunteers at Ballard Creek Communities and the Madrid Home for making her final years pleasant and filled with new memories.

A private memorial service for the immediate family will be held at a later date. The family requests in lieu of flowers, any memorial gifts may be sent to the Madrid Home, 613 West North Street, Madrid Iowa 50156 or directly to the family in Pauline’s name.
