Richard Scott

BORN: June 19, 1920

DIED: August 28, 2011

LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

Richard E. Scott, 91, of Ames, passed away August 28, 2011 at Mary Greeley Medical Center. Private family services will be held Wednesday, Aug. 31 at Adams Funeral Home.

Richard was born in Elkhart Township June 19, 1920 to Willis W. and Chloe (Cooper) Scott. He was a long time resident of Fort Dodge, Iowa and Colorado Springs, Colorado. He enjoyed his accounting profession before retiring to Ames. He enjoyed his family, friends, and long membership and service to the Lutheran Church.

He survived by his wife of 67 years, Helen Eda (Christofferson) Scott; daughter, Carole Rehder (Bert) of Lawrence, Kansas; two sons, Craig of Sunnyvale, California and Mark of St. Louis Park, Minnesota; eight grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren; sisters, Margaret Christopherson of Cambridge, Iowa and Barbara Ward, of Nixa, Missouri; and brother, Jay, of Nixa, Missouri.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Harriett Pinchak; and brother, Welby Mitchell.
