Ruth I. Sampson

BORN: November 29, 1933

DIED: September 22, 2011

LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Ruth I. Sampson was born November 29, 1933 to Hubert H. and Helen L. (Frazier) Twit in Sheldahl, Iowa. She graduated from Slater High School. Ruth married Dale R. Sampson on August 5, 1953. She was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Roland where she sang in the choir and taught Sunday school. She was also a member of Friends-N-Service and the Roland Legion Auxiliary. She was a homemaker, but also worked at Hilton Coliseum, McDonalds, and the Blue Onion. Ruth enjoyed traveling, flowers, and kept a huge garden.

Ruth passed away Thursday, September 22, 2011 at Bethany Manor in Story City at 77 years of age.

She is survived by her mother Helen Twit of Madrid, Iowa; her son Brian (Deb) Sampson of Roland; two daughters, Deb (Mark) Gaunt of Roland and Diane (Tim) Egemo of Manchester, Iowa; two brothers, A. David (Darla) Twit of Johnston, Iowa and Robert (Vicki) Twit of Ames, Iowa; eight grandchildren, Tyler, Trenton, Ashley, Alexandra, Bryce, Scott, Samantha, and Jackie; and her beloved dog, Sassy.

Ruth was preceded in death by her father Hubert; and her husband Dale.

Memorials may be designated to Salem Lutheran Church or Homeward Hospice.
