BORN: July 7, 1938

DIED: October 8, 2011

LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

DeAnna Kay Solbeck 73, of Ames, died Saturday October 8, at her home in Ames. A Funeral Service's will be held Wednesday, October 12, at 11:00 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Ames, with a visitation Tuesday October 11, from 5-7 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Ames

DeAnna was born July 11, 1938 in Dickins, Iowa to Allen and Hazel (Cole) Blessing. She graduated from Stewartville, MN High School and continued her education receiving her Associates Degree from Hamilton Business College in Mason City. She was employed by The Department of Transportation in Ames retiring in 1999. On February 10, 1962, she married Gerald Solbeck in Mason City.
DeAnna was a member First United Methodist Church in Ames, and the Ballard Golf and Country Club. She was an avid reader, she enjoyed golfing, going to garage sales, wintering in Texas, and most of all spending time with her grandson Jack.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Kacia (Tim) Cain of Indianola; son Tom Solbeck of Houston, TX, one grandson, Jack Solbeck of Houston, TX; two brothers, Jim and Allen; four sisters, Virginia, Peg, Margaret, Judy and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Dorothy, Cleo, Donna, and Marie
Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church in Ames.
