BORN: November 3, 1924

DIED: December 2, 2011

LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Evelyn O. Houser 87, of Story City formerly of Ames, died December 2, 2011 at Bethany Manor in Story City.

Evelyn was born November 3, 1924 in Tappan, ND to Godfrey and Hannah (Anderson) Peterson. She married Everett Houser June 24, 1949 in Bismarck, ND where they lived for 15 years before moving to Ames. Evelyn was an active member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She enjoyed crafts and was very skilled in making miniature furniture; she also enjoyed reading and spending time with family.

She is survived by her husband; daughter, Sharon Houser of Fort Dodge; three sons, Russell (Connie) Houser, Virgil Houser both of Nevada and Jerry (Gretchen) Houser of Ames; one sister, Geny Hoff of Jamestown, ND; nine grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by three brothers, Walter, Glen and Dennis and three sisters, Mable, May and Helen.
