Helen Scott

BORN: January 5, 1920

DIED: December 20, 2011

LOCATION: Madrid, Iowa

Helen Eda Christofferson Scott, 91, of Madrid, died Wed. Dec. 21 at the Madrid Home. Services will be Tuesday, Dec. 27 at the Madrid Home Chapel at 1:00 PM with burial to follow in the Cambridge Cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Helen was born Jan. 5, 1920 in Cambridge, IA to John and Sina (Larson) Christofferson. She married Richard E. Scott in 1944. They were married 67 year until his death in Aug. 2011. They were longtime residents of Fort Dodge, Ia and Colorado Springs, CO, before moving back to Ames for retirement. Helen was devoted to her home and family and a lifetime member of the Lutheran Church.

She is survived by one daughter, Carole Rehder (Bert) of Lawrence, KS; two sons; Craig, of Sunnyvale Calif., and Mark, of St. Louis Park, Minn.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents: two brothers, Harold and Wendell Christopherson; and three sisters; infant Evelyn Christopherson, June Erickson, and Lois Whitney.
