Leafa L. Strum

BORN: April 16, 1916

DIED: January 5, 2012

LOCATION: Story City, Iowa

Leafa L. Strum was born April 16, 1916 to Chester and Carrie (White) Fisher in Ames, Iowa. Leafa married Virgil Strum on August 20, 1937. She worked at Bourne's in Ames and the turkey plant in Ellsworth. Leafa was a member of Ascension Lutheran Church in Ames. She was a good homemaker and family was important to her.

Leafa passed away Thursday, January 5, 2012 at Bethany Manor at 95 years of age.

Leafa is survived by her son Donald (Alice) Strum of Muskego, Wisconsin; her daughter Virginia (Claire) Keigley of Ames; fourteen grandchildren; thirty-one great-grandchildren; and ten great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her daughter Caroline Main; her grandson Russell Main; three brothers; and one sister.

Memorials may be designated to Ascension Lutheran Church, Bethany Life Communities; or Mary Greeley Homeward Hospice.
