Funeral services were held at Maxwell last Wednesday afternoon for Mrs. Mary C. Atkinson, 75, who died at her home, 736 Third street, Nevada Sunday, April 24. There was a prayer service at the home, after which the funeral party went to Maxwell, where the services were held at the Church of Christ, with the Rev. Charles R. Neel of Des Moines, in charge. Burial was in the Maxwell cemetery by the side of her husband, Isaac H. Atkinson, who died December 19, 1934.

Mrs. Atkinson was born at Maxwell, August 7, 1863, her maiden name being Mary Catherine Boitnott, a daughter of one of the pioneer families of that community. She was united in marriage to Isaac Atkinson, August 7, 1881, nine children being born to them. One daughter, Lois, and a son, Lee, with the husband preceded her in death.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Fred Lakin of Waterloo, and sons Sidney of Collins, Guy and Gerald of Nevada, Arthur and George of Des Moines and Devere of Alamosa, Colo. She also leaves a host of other relatives and friends.
