David Durland

BORN: April 21, 1937

DIED: February 19, 2012

LOCATION: Ames, Iowa

David Durland died February 19, 2012 at the Israel Family Hospice House. Dave was born in Marshallton, Iowa and grew up in West Virginia and Pennsylvania. He graduated from Iowa State University. In 1961 he married Anne Cummins. They lived in Texas for many years where Dave sold domestic and exotic leathers to the shoe and boot industry. In 2005 he and Anne moved to Ames, Iowa.
Survivors include his beloved wife Anne, son Dan (Kara), daughter Allison French (Kelly), grandson Hunter French and his sister Connie Confer (Marion) and two nieces.

The family welcomes friends to join them from 2-6 p.m. Saturday, February 25, at the Durland home to honor and celebrate Dave. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be directed to The American Cancer Society Hope Lodge, 750 Hawkins Drive, Iowa City 52246, Israel Family Hospice House, 400 S. Dakota Ave, Ames, Iowa 50014, or Iowa State Foundation, Spike Kratovil Fund , 2505 University Blvd., Ames, Iowa, 50014
