OBITUARY

George Pedlar was born in St. John, Vermont, in the year 1819, was married to Adaline Bishop at Grand Island, Vermont, Dec. 9, 1839, and lived in that state until 1853, when he moved to Wisconsin and remained there until 1866. From there he came to Story Co. and settled near Iowa Center. His home has been in and around Iowa Center ever since. He had been in poor health for some time but still kept around. He was only confined a few days. His death occurred on Monday morning April 10, 1893. The funeral was held in Iowa Center on Wednesday afternoon, Rev. Ferguson conducting the service , assisted by Revs. Stauffacher and Doty. The widow and two children survive him, five children having died before the father. Another old has thus been taken away.
