From Nevada Representative February 2, 1881

Mr. Henry C. Jager, of Buena Vista county, son-in-law of J. E. Hoovver, and formerly of this county, died on January 12th with diphtheria. His little daughter, aged about 7 years, died only three days afterwards with the same disease. They had lived in Buena Vista county about 8 years, had a good farm and were getting along finely.

SUBMITTER'S NOTE: Henry Jager married Rachel Hoover on 2 February 1873 in Story County, Iowa. She was the daughter of Jacob E. Hoover and Hannah (Iddings) Hoover.
