Fell Dead in the Street!!!
Wm. V. Alderman who has been sick for the past two weeks, had recovered sufficiently to walk out and enjoy the pure spring air. On Friday last he concluded to walk to the village a distance of about one mile. Although his family objected, he started, reached the village and while walking in the company with Davis Hankins, near the school house dropped dead. He was immediately taken up, carried to the drug store and medical aid procured; but life was extinct. His death was caused undoubtedly by over exertion in his weak condition. His burial took place on Sunday at 11 a. m. funeral services at the M. E. Church, of which he had been a faithful member for the past year, the Rev. J. A. Jefferson, officiating.
He leaves a wife and family of children in straitened circumstances, who received the sympathy and necessary financial aid of a sympathizing community.
