Walter E. Loomis
Ames, IA.- Private services will be Friday in the Iowa State University Cemetery for Walter E. Loomis, 78, professor emeritus of botany, who died Tuesday in Riverside Manor here. The body was cremated.

Dr. Loomis, a faculty member 41 years, retired in 1968. He served with the Rockefeller Foundation in Mexico in 1954 and was an agricultural advisor in Egypt and Italy in 1956 and in Iran in 1957.

He was a former president of the American Association of Plant Physiologists. Survivors include his wife, Helen; two sons, three brothers, and a sister.
