Aunt Katie Brubaker, consort of Joseph Brubaker, Sen., residence two miles south of Iowa Center, died on last Wednesday, aged 74 years. Funeral services by Rev. Geo. Baker, interment in Brubaker Cemetery.

Aunt Katie has been a resident of this township 23 years, and perhaps no lady in this county has so large a circle of friends. Her home was noted for its hospitality, as thousands can testify who have partaken of her well supplied board. Her funeral was attended by her kind husband, their children, grand children, and a large number of friends, with heads bowed in sorrow. May our lives be such that when called to cross the "dark valley of the shadow of death," we shall again meet our kind friend Aunt Katie Brubaker.
